Place Newton is located on the northern edge of the Yorkshire Wolds close to the village of Wintringham. This fantastic estate is found in a stunningly beautiful area with extensive views in all directions. The shoot benefits from easy access and good local road networks making it easy to access from all parts of the country. There is a superbly diverse range of quality Hotels in the area to choose from providing the ideal options for teams interested in staying either the night before or after their shoot. In addition, the renown shooting town of Helmsley is only a 35 minute drive from the shoot.
The estate comprises 7,000 acres of predominantly rolling ground, typical of the Yorkshire Wolds, with many interesting features, none more so than the glacial deposits along the southern escarpment of the estate. There is road access across the estate which allows teams of guns easy access to all drives and many of the pegs, making the shooting very accessible to all.
The majority of the drives are in open settings, offering good views of the birds being presented from the impressive topography which extends for miles around. All drives are set out to comfortably shoot eight guns and the Estate can accommodate nine if required.
Following your days shooting the Estate’s hospitality team will cater to all your team’s requirements with fantastic options and delicious food, it’s sure not to disappoint. Partridge are on offer from early September, which are then mixed with Pheasants in October, with pheasants becoming the majority quarry from November onwards.
