Stratfield Saye is a prestigious shoot set within the stunning ancestral estate of the Duke of Wellington. Featured in both The World's Best Shoots by Alex Brant and The Great Shoots by Brian Martin, this renowned shoot takes place across the Private Park and the wider estate, offering a mix of pheasant and partridge, depending on the season. Pheasant shooting begins in late October. Though relaxed in atmosphere, the shoot is impeccably run, led by a head keeper with 30 years of experience on the estate, ensuring the highest-quality birds. As the ancestral home of the Wellingtons, the estate is steeped in fascinating history

The centre of the Estate today is Stratfield Saye House where the 1st Duke lived from 1818 to 1852

Pheasant & Partridge

1st September - 1st February

Teams meet at the Stable Yard, situated in front of the main house, to kick off the day. The shoot consists of 4 to 5 drives, with an in-field elevenses to keep everyone refreshed. The day culminates in a delightful lunch served in the shoot room, a charming space nestled within the ancient woodland, providing the perfect setting to reflect on the day's experience.

There a several good pubs, hotels and private residences located close by.
